Bismuth Sulfite Agar is a highly selective medium used for the isolation of Salmonella species, particularly Salmonella typhi in various types of samples including food, water and sewage. This product is not autoclaved in order to maintain its selective properties. This product is also light sensitive and must be protected from light. Each lot of media from MOLTOX is tested for sterility, where applicable, and its ability to support the growth of the appropriate microorganism. All media are accompanied by GLP-compliant formulation and Quality Control certificate.

The coliform group are used as indicators of fecal pollution in water, for assessing the effectiveness of water treatment and disinfection, and for monitoring water quality.
